Closing in 3 weeks, the Gawler Poetry Competition is a great way to exercise
your eloquence and insight (and the prizes are good too!)
There are also many recognised benefits in writing poetry including: improving your communication skills by allowing you to have fun with words; giving you an outlet for personal expression and creativity that can be transferred to other areas of your life; providing therapeutic benefits and providing an opportunity to participate in a cultural arena.
In acknowledgement of Gawler’s 175th celebrations, this year’s Gawler Poetry Competition asks poets to submit works on the theme Celebration. Entry forms that include submission details are available from the Gawler Public Library and Evanston Gardens Branch Library or can be downloaded from the library website
