The book explores the lives of the men of the first Infantry Battalion raised in South Australia and chronologically documents its history  from its beginnings at the Morphettville Racecourse to the end of World War One. It includes details of battles fought including the events of the raid on Celtic Wood (7th October 1917), the topic of this week’s History Month Lecture.
